FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A standard halogen bulb is usually supplied in a vehicle when new. OSRAM, RING and PHILIPS have developed a range of replacement upgrade bulbs that produce more light or a different type of light than standard halogen bulbs. This means that you can improve the amount of light your existing bulbs produce by fitting upgrade bulbs. For instance - the new NIGHT BREAKER range from OSRAM produce 90% more light than standard halogen bulbs giving the driver a much better view of the road ahead and without dazzling oncoming drivers. The Cool Blue range are more geared towards styling and offer a bluer light with about 20% more light than a standard halogen bulb. We also sell the OSRAM standard range of halogen headlamps for those drivers who are happy with their existing setup.

There are many automotive lighting products available to buy in the Uk. Most of the cheaper products are mass-produced in the Far East with very little emphasis on quality.
Carbulbs.com only sell quality automotive lighting products and we are authorised suppliers of OSRAM, RING and PHILIPS car bulbs. All the car bulbs we supply come directly to us from the manufacturers' distribution plants. When you buy from us you can be sure you are getting a genuine OSRAM, RING or PHILIPS quality product.
Back to questions
All the bulbs we offer have the same fitting as standard bulbs. Therefore it is just a matter of removing the old bulbs and fitting the new ones. However, we would recommend you consult your vehicle handbook to check on the fitting procedure. A few vehicles may require more parts to be removed before you can access the actual bulb that needs replacing. Because there are very many different vehicles we regret we cannot offer advice on the fitting process for a particular vehicle. All products are supplied on a DIY fit and you should satisfy yourself that you or the person fitting the bulb is competent to do so. We cannot accept any liability for any damage or additional costs incurred in fitting or using any products supplied by us.
Back to questions
No - the upgrade bulbs we supply have exactly the same fitting, dimensions and power rating as your existing bulbs.
Back to questions
Absolutely! - All OSRAM, RING and PHILPS bulbs we sell are 100% street legal throughout Europe and are manufactured to meet or exceed the stringent ECE R37 regulations.
Back to questions
No - When a new car comes fitted with Xenon type headlights, a different kind of lighting is used, known as HID - High Intensity Discharge. This system momentarily uses a very high voltage to start the light. This high voltage can be potentially lethal and we recommend that you do not try to fit HID headlights yourself. Please refer to your owners manual to confirm the type of bulb your vehicle has.
Back to questions
All OSRAM, RING and PHILPS standard and upgrade car bulbs we sell are ‘UV STOP' and are suitable for fitting in cars with plastic headlamp lenses. However, this is not the case with many upgrade bulbs available from other suppliers. If a bulb does not have ‘UV STOP' characteristics it will degrade your plastic lens and distort the amount of light on the road.
